CARMENÈRE
This grape is often confused with Merlot but its aromas and flavours are distinct with characteristics of red fruits and fresh herbs.

CHAT DORMANT*
Lovely flavour of black fruits and very tannic. Wonderful structure on the palate.
CHIANTI
Lively, fruity and well rounded.
CLOS MINIER*
Rich dark red colour with a lingering finish of blackcurrant and cherries. Tastes full, well rounded, mellow, with a fine balance.
COTEAU ROYAL*
Dark fruity aromas and excellent balance. A full-body flavour.
COTEAU SUR MER*
Moderately full-bodied. Ripe tannins provide ample structure.
DOLCETTO
Light bodied, dry red wine with flavours of berry fruit.
DOMAINE DES BRUMES*
Pronounced fruit flavour and enticing bouquet of berries.
GRENACHE
Often used in blends this wine offers spicy rich fruit flavours of strawberry, raspberry and cherries.
JERMILLON*
Deeply fruited with ripe berry fruits. Moderately full-bodied palate with a supple, ripe texture.
LAALSY*
Sweetly-fruited on the attack with a moderately full body.
LA FLUTEE*
Full flavour with red fruits.
MALBEC
The least known of the Bordeaux grapes. This wine is usually low in acidity, high in tannins, and has an inky-black colour. Aromas and flavours of red plums, black currants and dried cherries are common.
MERLOT
Smooth with blackberry and black currant flavours.
MONTEPULCIANO
Deep coloured, rich red wine with spicy, fruity flavours. Smooth and mellow.
MOURVEDRE
Wines from the Mourvèdre grape have notes of rich blackberries, pepper, leather and fresh herbs.
NEBBIOLO
The Nebbiolo grape produces a sturdy, dry, full-bodied wine with higher tannins and acid. A bouquet of violets and chocolate is complimented with strong fruit flavours of raspberries and licorice.
PETIT VERDOT
Hardy wines that are rich in colour, tannin and alcohol. On the palate they are spicy, tannic and richly extracted.
PINOTAGE
Flavours of pepper, black fruits, spiciness and acetone are quite common for this native of South Africa.
PINOT NOIR
An elegant, dry wine with aromas of raspberry and cherry. Rich in complexity with velvety flavours full of spices and fruit.
RIOJA TINTO
Spain's answer to Chianti, this deeply coloured wine has concentrated fruit with a medium body. Soft and mellow with moderate tannins.
SANGIOVESE
Well-balanced, full bodied red with cherry fruit overtones. High in acid, low to medium tannins and medium colour intensity.
SHIRAZ or SYRAH
Known as Syrah in France and Europe this grape took off in Australia where it is known as Shiraz (New World). Wines are often dark, full-bodied and tannic with aromas of blackcurrant, cedar and mixed spice.
